Leaders at Southern Water joined Lord Abergavenny to plant a special tree as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy Initiative.
The initiative was created to honour Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. It was extended by His Majesty the King, to include the full tree planting season to the end of March 2023, enabling people to plant trees honouring Her Majesty in memoriam.
At Southern Water, we have hundreds of sites including four reservoirs, one of which is Bewl. Our management of these sites means we can make a positive difference to the environment, by looking after these areas and the wildlife that makes them their home.
Katy Taylor, Southern Water’s Chief Customer Officer, said:
“It is a great pleasure to join Lord Abergavenny to plant a tree in honour of the Queen’s Green Canopy. I’m proud that we are doing this on one of our sites, showing our commitment to protecting the environment and encouraging biodiversity to thrive wherever we can."
